When company founder William Levitt noticed a void in housing for soldiers returning from World War II, he created the first planned suburban communities – Levittown on New York’s Long Island, and Levittown, PA. Often called the “Father of Suburbia,” Levitt was credited with changing the American landscape and is noted as one of the most influential men of the 20th century

That legacy has continued into the 21st century. Today, the children of Levittown and their counterparts throughout the country represent one of the biggest markets in history – baby boomers.
